  • Monthly accounting provides ongoing bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end reports, keeping you current all year long. Annual accounting consolidates everything at year-end into one engagement — ideal if you only need your books ready for tax season.

  • A one-page KPI summary with a short “Kristy’s Take” and 2–4 prioritized next steps.

  • No — cleanup projects are billed hourly because the scope varies for every client. This ensures you pay only for the time needed to get your books accurate and up to date.

  • Cleanups are billed at $150/hour, with 50% due upfront and the remainder prior to completion. Once your books are caught up, we can transition you to the right ongoing accounting plan.

  • It depends where you are:

    • If you don’t have payroll set up yet, you’ll usually start with Payroll Essentials to get a proper payroll system running, then decide if/when you want the deeper owner compensation analysis.

    • If you already run payroll (maybe even with another provider): you may not need my Payroll Essentials service, but the Compliance Package can still make sense if your owner salary hasn’t been clearly analyzed or documented.

    • If you’re an ongoing accounting client with payroll through me, Payroll Essentials covers the ongoing processing; the Compliance Package is an optional add-on for a more formal owner salary review and documentation.

  • The tax law requires S-Corp owners who work in the business to be paid reasonable compensation as W-2 wages. The IRS expects you to be able to support that your salary is reasonable if they look at it closely.

    The IRS does not mandate a specific brand of “compensation study” or a particular resolution template. The Compliance Package is about:

    • Doing the analysis behind your salary, and

    • Putting the reasoning and decision into clear, written form.

    So the requirement is to pay a reasonable wage and be able to back it up. These documents are how we organize that support.

  • Yes — a business tax return is included only with the Starter Annual Plan. All other accounting plans are bookkeeping-only, but tax preparation can be added separately.

  • Yes, you can switch at any time. The annual plan is paid in full upfront, so it won’t apply retroactively to monthly payments that have already been made.

  • We work with several platforms including QuickBooks Online, Xero, Wave, and Zoho Books — whichever best fits your business setup and needs.

  • Yes — both are available as add-on services. We’ll review your payroll provider, filing frequency, and applicable states to confirm what’s needed.

  • You’ll typically receive a reply within 12 business hours, and no more than one business day in rare cases.

  • That’s completely fine. We’ll start with a one-time cleanup to bring everything up to date, then move you onto a plan that keeps your books accurate going forward.

  • If you want to understand your numbers at a deeper level — not just report them — CFO services are a good fit. Most clients move up once they’ve stabilized their books and are ready to plan for growth or expansion.

  • CFO services go beyond bookkeeping. They include financial strategy, forecasting, KPI tracking, cash flow management, and guidance to help you make confident business decisions.

  • CFO clients typically meet bi-weekly or monthly, depending on business complexity and goals. You’ll get regular insights, reports, and recommendations — not just spreadsheets.

  • Book a call and mention you’re interested in CFO or advisory services. We’ll review your current financials, goals, and whether CFO-level support makes sense right now.
